Introducing: The Sacramento Update

A note from the publisher, Ethan Biando

I am very excited to announce the unveiling of The Sacramento Update, an online news publication centered around crime, courts, and local government in Sacramento and its surrounding areas.

The website serves as a continuation of my original website,, which has been slowly transitioning from a hub of general freelance work into a site focused specifically on Sacramento, funneling content through several aggregation services and Facebook groups.

The Update will serve as a go-to location for reliable, accurate information on intricate and sensitive stories of public safety and the criminal justice system – two topics especially prone to misinformation and sensationalism, whether intentional or otherwise.

Starting on Monday, October 18th, The Update will be rolling out several stories on courts in Sacramento, including several high-profile cases that have and continue to affect the public at large.

That first week will serve as a tone-setter for what’s to come, and will emphasize The Update’s focus on breaking new information on some of the most important developments in the local legal system.

You can subscribe to The Update’s mailing list below.
